Esther Marshall - Head Physiotherapist & Pilates Teacher
Esther qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2005 with a BSc honours degree from the University of Manchester. She has worked in both the NHS and private practise since qualification, building up a variety of skills and knowledge in musculoskeletal medicine. In 2008 Esther trained with the AACP to use acupuncture as part of her treatment and studied for a diploma in orthopaedic medicine in 2009.
She has experience in treating a wide range of conditions but has a special interest in shoulder problems and headaches. Esther runs several Physiotherapy clinics during the week including evenings.
Esther has been teaching APPI Pilates since 2011 and is passionate about the use of Pilates in helping people rehabilitate from pain and injury. She loves that pilates teaches the bodyto move well in order to stay fit, healthy, supple and strong. Esther teaches different Pilates classes to suit all abilities including antenatal and postnatal classes. She found Pilates exercises extremely beneficial during her own pregnancy, labour and recovery from her two children.
As well as Pilates, Esther enjoys running and has run several half marathons as well as the Edinburgh marathon.
Carolyn Welsford - Physiotherapy & 121 Pilates Sessions
Carolyn qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist with a BSc honours degree from Manchester University in 2003. She has since gained extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy both in the NHS and the private sector.
Carolyn enjoys treating a variety of conditions but has a specialist interest in post operative rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery as well as knee injuries. She enjoys helping clients achieve their goals in order to return to full function of daily life.
Ten years ago Carolyn trained in acupuncture and became a member of the AACP which allows her to use acupuncture as part of her treatment repertoire.
She is trained to teach pilates on a 1:1 basis as well as classes and is also a qualified FitBack and Bumps Instructor. This enables her to carry out ante and post natal educational and exercise classes.
Outside of physiotherapy, Carolyn enjoys family life with her husband and two young sons, playing hockey and baking cakes!

Hannah Scrase-Field - Pilates Teacher
Hannah qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2005 and went on to work in the community setting with a broad range of clients. Since having 4 children (and realising the toll that can take on the body!) she has developed a passion for Pilates as a way to improve posture, stability and strength and restore normal movement naturally. As well as a BSc hons degree in Physiotherapy, Hannah has trained with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute (APPI) and favours a rehabilitative approach to Pilates.
