All classes last for one hour and include a warm up and cool down at the start and end of each class.
Classes must be attended on time to avoid missing the warm-up - this is important to prevent injury.
There are different types of classes to suit your needs.
"Beginner & Clinical" classes are suitable for everyone unless you have very specific needs or very acute pain.
"Intermediate" classes are suitable for those with experience of Pilates, good performance of basic exercises and no acute pain or injury.
What to bring
Wear anything that is comfortable and allows you to move freely. Lycra is not necessary!
Exercise takes place in socks or bare feet, so footwear is unimportant.
You may wish to bring a bottle of water to keep hydrated although the classes are not high energy or high impact.
All exercises take place on mats on the floor.
Small head blocks are used to support the head and maintain neck alignment.
Other equipment such as small balls and therabands can be used to further challenge the exercise.
All equipment is provided, but you may bring your own mat if you prefer.
All participants must be 16 years or over. Classes are open to men and women.
You should be able to lie comfortably flat on a mat on your back, front and side. Ideally you should be able to stay on hands and knees for up to 10 minutes.
A consultation is required before starting the classes. This is to ensure the class is appropriate for you and you can participate safely.
